Who was Alexis?
Alexis was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, and niece. She passed away in 2006 at the age of 18 from kidney failure.
Born with center line defects and multiple disabilities, Alexis faced many challenges, including developmental delays, visual and hearing impairments, and a fragile immune system. She was never given a formal diagnosis, but her spirit was unmistakable. Despite her difficulties, she filled our lives with joy. She greeted everyone with a big smile and often with a bag of bread or a singing toy in hand. Though she couldn’t express her love verbally, she shared it in her own beautiful ways, always making others feel cherished.
Alexis’s life was shaped by the love of family and the support of dedicated professionals. This foundation honors her remarkable spirit and strives to carry forward her love by supporting those who lift others up.
